Class Category: 

  • Beginner- Enthusiastic students eager to learn the language Malayalam. No previous knowledge needed.
  • Intermediate- Knows Malayalam alphabets; tries to coin words. 
  • Senior- Ability to read in Malayalam/graduated from 2025 Intermediate class (need approval from previous teacher)

Program Highlights:

  • Beginner – Saturdays/ 10:00 AM CST
  • Intermediate – Saturdays / 10:00 AM CST
  • Senior – Saturdays/ 11:00 AM CST
  • Semester 1: October 4 – March 8
  • Semester 2: March 28 – July 26

Teachers:

Dr. Hari Krishnan (M.A, M.Ed, M.Phil, Ph.D & Post Doctorate)- Intermediate and Senior Class

I obtained my M.A., B.Ed., and M.Ed. degrees in Malayalam Literature from Kerala University, and my M.Phil. degree in Malayalam Literature from Madurai Kamaraj University. I also earned my Ph.D. and Post-Doctorate degrees from Kerala University. I have five years of teaching experience in an Arts College and two years of experience at the Kerala Law Academy, as well as two years of experience teaching school students. I have published many articles and books in Malayalam and have won the Ullur Award for my best literary work. I also teach painting and yoga classes through online. I have been serving as a Malayalam teacher at GAMA for the past three years.

Mr.Jebin Babu- Beginner class

I am a PhD student in Cell and Molecular Biology at UT Austin. I completed my integrated master’s in Biology and Chemistry from IISER Thiruvananthapuram, followed by two years as a project fellow, where I contributed to research, delivered lectures, and mentored students. Outside of science, I enjoy teaching—especially Malayalam, which has been a special interest since childhood as my mother is a Malayalam teacher. Having needed to master English for academic and professional growth, I deeply value how language connects people. Helping learners embrace Malayalam and reconnect with their cultural roots is something I truly love.
